Origami Flowers

I wanted to add some color in one of our bathrooms. After a little bit of internet searching I found these cute, little origami flowers. Here is how I made them...

What you need:
  • Colorful paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue (or glue gun)
First the paper needs to be cut into squares. The size of the square will determine how large your flower will be. For the smaller one I used 3x3 inch squares and for the larger one 5x5 inch squares. For this demonstration I used a 3x3 inch square.

Take one corner and join it with the opposite corner, making a triangle.

Next, take one of the bottom corners of the triangle and fold it so it's end meets with the top. Repeat with the other bottom corner.

It should look like this after folding both corners:

Now take the one of the same corners as used previously and fold it down so that the edge that was in the center is now flush with the edge of the square.

Repeat on the other side.

Next open up the flaps you just made and flatten them.

Which will look like this:

Take the tip of the folds that you just made and fold them down so that they are even with the bottom edge.

Now fold the two outside wings in and bring the two ends together.

Glue the two ends together and you have one petal!

To make the completed flower I glued 6 petals together, but you can try as many or as little as you want.

  1. Thanks a lot for this easy to follow tutorial! I tried to make one and it worked immediately (which is really remarkable in my case *gg*)
