Peanut Butter Brownie Dessert

This is my newest peanut butter dessert, which I found here. This is the recipe:

What you need:
Brownie
  • 4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup flour
Peanut Butter Cup Cream Cheese
  • 12 oz (1&1/2 packages) cream cheese, softened
  • 1&1/4 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 6 oz peanut butter cups, crushed (8 large cups, or half a bag of miniature cups)
Topping
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup hot fudge, melted
  • 1 (1&1/2 oz) package peanut butter cups, crushed (optional)

Brownie
Melt chocolate and butter. Slowly stir in sugar. Stir until blended.

Add eggs, then flour. Mix well.

Line the bottoms of 3 round or square 8 inch pans with parchment paper and lightly grease with cooking spray.

Pour brownie batter evenly into 3 pans. Bake at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until done. Do not over bake.

Let cool in  pans for 10 minutes, then remove to wire racks. Cool completely.

Peanut Butter Cup Cream Cheese
Beat cream cheese until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

Add peanut butter and beat until completely combined.

Fold in peanut butter cups.

If you make this ahead of time, refrigerate. Remove from refrigerator and allow to come to room temperature before using.

Layering
Layer brownie and mousse, beginning and ending with brownie.

Topping
Combine white chocolate chips and peanut butter. Microwave on high for 1 minute, or until melted. Stirring every 30 seconds.

Drizzle peanut butter/peanut butter mixture on the top brownie layer. Add melted hot fudge and sprinkle with crushed peanut butter cups, if desired.

While making this dessert I finally got to use my new Kenmore Mixer! My amazing boyfriend got it for me this Christmas and I love it! Here she is:

She is so gorgeous!

Making the brownie mix and peanut butter cup cream cheese mousse.

Creating the layers. Adding the peanut butter topping.

We only added the hot fudge when we went to eat it. Also I did not add any crushed peanut butter cups.

I thought that it was super good but my boyfriend did not like it as much. The peanut butter mousse was very cream cheesy, which I liked but he didn't. The cream cheese did mask the peanut butter flavor a bit, but I still enjoyed it. The next time I make this, though I may change the peanut butter mousse layer to something that has more of a peanut butter flavor. And I will say this: it is super thick and dense. Be sure to have lots of milk around when you eat it!
