Pallet Accessory & Jewelry Holder

Earlier this summer my sister's best friend, Courtney {who is a good friend of mine too... yay for sisters having the same friends!} asked me to help her with a project, because she knows I like to craft. Her idea was to make an accessory and jewelry holder out of a pallet. We put our minds together and this is what we came up with:

What you need:
  • Pallet
  • Paint/Spray Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Stencil
  • Knobs
  • Sander

Did you know that pallets are free... yeah! Just go to the loading dock of a store and they have them sitting out. Awesome, right?

Our idea was to paint a pallet one color then spray paint a design with a different, contrasting color. Then attach various knobs onto the pallet to hold the jewelry and accessories.

First we sanded the rough wood.

We decided on painting the whole pallet turquoise then spray painting a yellow pattern. A trip to Michael's lead us to these Martha Stewart stencils, which we loved!

This turned out to be a easy and rather quick painting project. It only took us an hour or two to paint the whole pallet, then we let it dry for a few days. The spray painting also only took a few hours.

It looked great after the spray painting.

Hobby Lobby was the next stop to pick up various knobs, they have a ton there! Those were attached and it was done!

Courtney loves it and we had a great time working on it!
