Grapevine Fall Wreath

I love the Fall! While Christmas is probably my favorite holiday, the Fall is probably my favorite season. I love the 70 degree days { =  windows open!} and chilly nights { = great sleeping with windows open!!}... I absolutely love it. : )

We have been enjoying these beautiful falls days outside. Chris has been doing a lot of golfing lately, which I am totally fine with... more me crafting time! Last weekend my mom and I enjoyed the nice weather by going horseback riding. Oh man it was so much fun. We now want to buy a horse!

Anywho, besides enjoying the weather, I have been able to get some crafts done and stared fall decorating. I was able to finish my fall wreath this past weekend and I love how it turned out!

Here is how I made it.

What you need:
  • Grapevine Wreath
  • Fall Foliage
  • Fabric Rosettes
  • Ribbon
  • Hot Glue Gun
I scored this grapevine wreath at Michael's for about $3... yes!

I had some fake fall foliage from last fall hanging around {you could always use something real too!}.

First I cut pieces/twigs off my foliage and hot glued them to my wreath.

Next, I made some fabric rosettes. I wanted to post the tutorial but I thought it would make this post way too long. But it will be coming soon!

I then glued the fabric rosettes somewhat on top of the foliage.

I wasn't quite satisfied with my wreath yet... it needed something more... a bow!

To make a bow,  start with circle of your desired ribbon and flatten down the circle with the seam in the back.

Next wrap the same ribbon {or in my case twine} around the center of the flattened down ribbon. Secure with hot glue.

Next, cut a piece of ribbon, gather it on one side and hot glue it angled one way to the backside of the center of the bow. Repeat this with another piece of ribbon angled the other way.

I finished my wreath by attaching a ribbon to the top to hang it and by attaching my bow {both with hot glue}.

And she is done!

I love how it looks on our front door! We are ready for fall!
