Polka Dot Ombre Painting

Do you guys remember me mentioning my gallery wall? If you don’t you can check it out here.

I’ve only had the one picture hanging there for a while now. I knew that I really needed to make more items for the gallery wall because one picture on a huge wall all by itself is depressing!

So as I’ve been surfing the web looking at everyone’s lovely blogs and whatnot I have kept my eye out for something I can make. That is how I came across the idea for this beauty:

Unfortunately, I don’t remember where I discovered the idea. See, usually when I stumble upon something I love and want to recreate, I pin it. (Of course!) But apparently I didn’t do that this time. The original was for a nursery, I think, with red and orange colors. If anyone knows what I am talking about please let me know. I like to give credit for others ideas that I mimic.

What you need:
  • Canvas
  • Paint
  • Finger

Yup, that is all you need. Pick your paint, dip your finger in the paint, and make dots on your canvas. Boom. Done!

I wanted an ombre effect, so I added increasingly more white to the paint as I went.

That is really all there is to it. This craft is great because it is really simple and you can really use your imagination with it.

Once I finish one more project I will show you guys a progression of the gallery wall!
