Bathroom Magazine Rack

Chris and I like to read magazines, but they always seem to end up in random places when we are finished reading them. I feel like just throwing them away after we read them is a waste - some of those magazines {like my crafty ones} cost a pretty penny! For some reason I've always wanted to place our old magazines in the bathroom {so guests and us can have reading material?}. I haven't been quite sure about how I was going to accomplish this, as there isn't enough room in the bathroom for a stand alone rack - till one day, the light bulb turned on, and I had a plan!

Taco Bowls

The other night we had soft tacos but had a lot of the mixings left over. Instead of making more tacos the next night I thought I'd change things up a bit with taco bowls!!

Here, let me show you what I did...

Sewn Towels Display

In bathrooms I like to use the towel rod for a pretty towel display, with towels you don't actually use, of course. Chris thinks differently, he would rather use the rod for drying towels we use. But I usually win these type of debates. Plus he tells me he doesn't really care that much.

For years I have just been placing towels one on top of the other on the rod. Hoping they will stay. Most of the time they eventually fall off. Two years ago, I thought I got smart. I pinned the towels around the rod and together. Unfortunately you could tell where I had pined them by a dimple that had appeared due to the weight on the pin.

I needed a better solution... Sew Them!

Homemade Twix Bars

It seems that I haven't talked much about food lately, so this week is sort of a food week.  Monday I showed you guys how to make Homemade Applesauce. To continue with the homemade theme I'd thought I show how to make Homemade Twix bars today.

Homemade Applesauce

Okay everyone, I have a super easy recipe for you today!

We like to eat a lot of fruit {well I do, Chris is more of a veggie guy}, but the selection in the winter is usually pretty terrible. What I mostly eat in the winter are apples. We normally buy a bag of apples a week and usually eat all of them. But some weeks are not so good. One weekend we had a lot of leftover apples. I knew that they would be too soft for the next week {I like a nice, crunchy apple}, but I didn't want to waste them. What could I do with lots of apples... pie?... no, not much of a fan... ah ha!... Homemade Applesauce!!

Paper Hearts Garland

Alright, I'm going to be honest, I'm not a huge Valentine's Day fan. : /  I'm sure if I had kids and could celebrate it with them, I would feel differently. And sure, I like receiving gifts and flower, but I feel like it isn't necessary. So Chris and I don't usually do too much for Valentine's Day and I am okay with that.

However, I did have a small change of heart this year. I wanted to add a little Valentine's day decor in our place. Paper garlands have been done over and over again on the blogosphere, but I just love the look and versatility of them. I knew that a paper garland would make a great, simple and easy Valentine's day decor!
