Sewing Mondays - Roll-Up Tote Bag

To help encourage myself to practice sewing as much as I can, I came up with "Sewing Mondays". This will be a chance for me to show you all the tutorials I have tried, my resulting product, and what I thought of the tutorial {I promise all comments will be nice!}. Maybe I will even become proficient enough to post my own tutorials! {Baby steps first, though.} To start out, I'll post a Sewing Mondays post every other week, but if I really get the sewing fever, maybe I'll post every week!

This week's Sewing Mondays tutorial is the Fold-up Tote Tutorial from ZaaBerry

I absolutely loved this tutorial! I was so easy to follow and I love the resulting product.

A little tote that you can roll-up and stick in your purse? How perfect! You never know when you might need a little tote bag.

This tutorial was very simple for a beginner to follow. French seams were used in this tutorial and the instructions on how to make them were very clear. I had no problem understanding the technique! The execution, however, was a little rocky, but that is just my learning curve.

I didn't quite hide the seam. Ugh, one day I will be a great seamstress!

I had other mishaps as well, with my topstitching. The double lines definitely were not even! Also, I missed the part where you don't backstitch with topstitching...

But I did make a second tote for a friend and it came out much, much better. I guess am starting to get this!

This was a really great tutorial and I definitely recommend it to anyone learning how to sew! I do love my little bag.

Thanks ZaaBerry for this great tutorial! Since I featured you feel free to grab the button below:

If anyone has a tutorial they would like me to try {and maybe feature!} please leave a link in the comments!
