DIY iPhone Covers

Chris and I bought iPhone at the end of last summer. Let me tell you my iPhone has. Changed. My. Life! I seriously do not know how I lived with out it! And as a blogger, it has really helped me with social networking.

Now that I have a iPhone, I've wanted to get a pretty case for it. However, I couldn't find anything I like {I haven't looked on Etsy, just local stores...Etsy could be dangerous : ) }. Recently I have seen a few bloggers make their own iPhone covers, such as Live Laugh Rowe did. She made a custom iPhone cover to brand her blog! I did something similar, but with fun designs instead of blog branding. Here is what I did:

What you need:

  • Clear iPhone case {this is the one I have, same as Live Laugh Rowe}
  • X-Acto knife
  • Scissors
  • Design {and Printer!}
  • White card-stock paper

First I found different designs that I liked and printed them out on white card-stock paper. Here are the patterns I printed out, feel free to use them too:

Next I cut out each pattern and turned them over so the pattern was on my work surface. Then I traced the outline cover onto the back of the pattern, including the camera lense hole.

I cut out the camera lense hole with my X-Acto knife and the outline with the scissors. After you place it into your cover you may have to re-cut a little, I did.

Then I place the pattern into my case, put the case on my iPhone, and I was done!

I love that this is easy, cheap, super customizable! I can easily change the design as my likes change! You could even use pretty patterned scrap-book paper.

If I do ever go to a blog conference I will probably make a blog brand one like Live Laugh Rowe did.

Have fun with this!
