Peanut Butter Brownie Cake

So I had planned on showing you all how to sew a sham, but I didn't get to it. : ( This past week was just too busy, but I'll try to get it to you all soon!

Last Friday was Chirs' birthday. We decided to stay in to save money, so I made him whatever he wanted for dinner and dessert. I thought I'd share with you what he choose for dessert! I had him go through my Pinterest board and he choose a dessert from The Domestic Rebel. Here is how you make it:

What you need:
Cake:
  • 1 Box Fudge Brownie Mix {plus ingredients on back of the box}
  • 1 Box Yellow Cake Mix
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • 1/2 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • ~24 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Peanut Butter Frosting:
  • 1 stick Butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Milk
  • 3 Cups Powdered Sugar

Cake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13x9 inch baking pan and set aside.

In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, eggs, oil and peanut butter until combined.

In a second bow, combine the brownie cake mix with ingredients on back of box.

Spread the peanut butter mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Place the unwrapped peanut butter cups gently into the peanut butter mixture. Top with the prepared brownie mixture.

Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean and center is set. Cool completely.

Peanut Butter Frosting
Using a stand mixer, beat together butter, peanut butter, and a splash of vanilla extract.

Gradually add powdered sugar. If it is too thick add a small amount of milk. Continue this until you have added all the powdered sugar. Mix until the frosting is fluffy and soft.

Spread onto cooled cake.

I hope you all enjoy this as much as we did!
