Christmas 2013

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope everyone has a wonderful day and gets to spend today with family and friends! Chris and I are headed to my parents house first to open gifts and have brunch. Then Chris's grandmother is making a sort of dinner/lunch. And finally we are going to Chris's cousin's for dinner. So it should be a great day filled with family and food!

Here is my yearly home tour of our Christmas decorations:

This year I was able to make a new tree star. It came out a little big but I like it! I may make a new one again next year. Also this year I make some simple paper garland that I hung everywhere. I love how the simple touch made a big impact. : )

I also made a new tree skirt this year. It's hard to see in the above picture, so here is a better picture. I love it! It turned out better than expected. I planned on sharing the tutorial with you all before Christmas but didn't get to it. I'll probably share the tutorial next week, so you all have it for next year!

This shot is pretty much the same from last year. The only exceptions are the garland and one more stocking for that new kitty of ours. : ) Eventually I would like to fill the shelves with Christmas decor, too.

Here is the dinning table center piece: just tinsel garland and candles. I wanted to make a new table runner but didn't get to it. Maybe next year! {I also need to decorate the walls of my dinning area!}

And last up we have our buffet. I love this spot because this is where we display our Christmas cards. We got a fair amount this year, so I'm thinking next year I'll have to make a proper display for them... not sure what yet. Also, next year I'll probably start sending out our own Christmas cards. : )

Merry Christmas everyone!! Have a great day!

  1. Love your Christmas decor! And that tree skirt came out great. I kept seeing it pop up on Pinterest, but I ran out of time. Maybe next year?

    Merry Belated Christmas. I hope you have a wonderful New Year!

    1. Thank you! I'm glad you like the tree skirt. I should have the tutorial posted on Monday if you'd like it for next year! I always run out of time during the holidays too. There were at least 2 or 3 projects I didn't get too. I hope you had a great Christmas too! And Happy New Year!
