Canvas Photos Wall Display

As I mentioned before, I made a couple Christmas gifts this year. One being the Puzzle Photo Blocks that I talked about last week. The other gift I will talk about today.

Browsing around on Pinterst over the holidays lead me to this pin of a beautiful wedding canvas photo display. I had the perfect idea of how I could turn this into a gift for my mom. Now all I had to figure out was how to make a canvas photo! Luckily I stumbled across this post from Little Bit Funky explaining how to make a canvas photo using tissue paper.

With my sister's help, we created these for our mom:

White Ribbon Wreath

I wanted a new wreath for my front door and since the holidays are over I obviously couldn't use my Burlap & Ornament Wreath any longer {it was too Christmasy}. For my newest wreath I still wanted something that reflected the winter season, but without the holiday feel. My idea was a white wreath using ribbon, with a snowflake incorporated.

Puzzle Photo Blocks

For Christmas this past year I ended up making a couple of the gifts. One of the gifts was for our work holiday party. My boss always hosts the party at his house and we usually have a gift exchange {the kind where you draw a number and people can steal gifts -- I not sure if there is a proper name for it}. The gifts have to be $20 or under, which is hard to do! Picking out an inexpensive , universal gift for a group of very diverse people is pretty difficult! But this year I had a plan...

Blog Birthday + a Giveaway

Hi all, I'm back! It is very bizarre to think that I was in Florida a week ago. The trip down was pretty crazy... and long! I have family in Columbus, my mom's sister, her husband, and my two cousins. My two cousins are girls and my sister and I were very close to them as kids. Anyway, my uncle and cousins drove down to Cincinnati and picked my father, sister, and I up (my mom and aunt flew to Florida the day before). And we all headed to Florida. It ended up taking about a little over 16 hours! And it turns out my father isn't a very good passenger. I think he has undiagnosed ADD! : )

The trip was sad and happy at the same time.  I was able to catch up with family members I haven't seen in a long time. But the reason for all of us getting together was very sad. She was my last grandparent to pass away. I will miss her and all of my other grandparents very much. The generations have now shifted. My parents are the older generation now and it is strange to think about.

Enough of that, on to something happy. My blog is 1 year old! The birthday was actually at the end of December, but with the holidays I didn't want to celebrate it then. So I've sort of moved the birthday to the beginning of January. I can't believe I have been blogging for a whole year! I have learned a lot and can't wait to see were my blog goes in the future. In honor of my blog's birthday I will be doing my very first giveaway! The prize is:

Favorite Posts of 2012

I know it as been over a week since I have last posted anything but with the holidays and whatnot, life has been crazy. Unfortunately I have some bad personal news. My grandmother (mom's mom) suffered a severe heart attack in the middle of the week. Sadly, she passed away today. She was my last living grandparent and we didn't see this coming as she was in pretty good health before all of this. She was an amazing women and I will miss her very much.

Consequently, I will be going to Florida tomorrow and therefore will be absent from my blog for a week or so.

Before I start my traveling I wanted to give you guys a recap of my favorite posts from 2012. I know I am a little late with this but I wanted to post it anyway.

So here are my favorite posts from 2012 in descending order:
