Hydrangea Centerpiece

Last Friday I shared with you all my new spring wreath. When I bought the hydrangeas for the wreath, I bought enough for a centerpiece on my dinning room table. This is what they look like:

Today's post isn't really going to be a tutorial but more of a "what not to do when painting vases".

Vintage Easter Eggs

Have I told you all that I have a great boyfriend? One day, over the winter, I came home and he had bought me a new craft magazine! He happened to be at the store, saw it, and thought I'd love it! It's a pretty nifty {and I think new} magazine called stitch, craft, create . The pages are filled with DIY projects and tons of inspiration. Seriously, you should go check stitch, craft, create's website. {I have no affiliation with stitch, craft, create and I'm not getting paid to say this.}

While flipping though it, I stumbled upon inspiration for my Easter craft! They had a picture of beautiful decoupaged eggs and lace eggs. I knew I want to make something like those for a little Easter decor! Here is what I did...

Linen & Hydrangea Wreath

Welp, it's spring now. Unfortunately, the weather here doesn't know that. They are forcasting snow for this weekend. : ( Come on Ohio! Let's get on to the 70 degrees and sunny!

I wanted to have a fun and pretty wreath for spring this year. Last year I made a cute purple & blue wreath, but this year I wanted more neutral colors. I'm loving the look of linen right now and I knew that I wanted to use linen in this wreath. I'm also loving hydrangeas this year and wanted to use those as well. {Also this year I plan on making a garden and might try to grow hydrangeas, but I think they are hard to grow... I'll keep you all posted. : ) }.

This is what I came up with as a spring wreath:

Sewing Mondays - Roll-Up Tote Bag

To help encourage myself to practice sewing as much as I can, I came up with "Sewing Mondays". This will be a chance for me to show you all the tutorials I have tried, my resulting product, and what I thought of the tutorial {I promise all comments will be nice!}. Maybe I will even become proficient enough to post my own tutorials! {Baby steps first, though.} To start out, I'll post a Sewing Mondays post every other week, but if I really get the sewing fever, maybe I'll post every week!

This week's Sewing Mondays tutorial is the Fold-up Tote Tutorial from ZaaBerry

DVD Organization

When I was a college student, my roommate and I {who turned out to be one of my best friends ~ yah Chelsea~} did not have a television. Neither one of us were big TV watchers and we felt it was unnecessary. But there were nights that I was very bored in the dorm and needed a study break. So I started buying DVDs to watch on my computer. And it hasn't stopped!

Scarf Hanger

Okay, honesty time. I'm a female. I like to shop. So I tend to accumulate lots of must need clothes, shoes, and accessories. My sister actually recently asked me if I've counted how many shoes I have lately. Ha! No! I don't want to know how many I have, I just know I always want more! Plus I don't want Chris to catch wind of the number, he probably would call me ridiculous. : )

She can't talk though. She recently told me she has 12, that's right, 12 pairs of jeans! And she said if I need new jeans I should shop in her closet first! Heck yah free jeans!

One accessory I have a lot of are scarfs. Scarfs are great if you need something more to your outfit, but don't want to wear a necklace or if you need a pop of color. My scarf organization isn't the greatest, though. I just have a cloth bin in my closet that I toss them all in, requiring me to riffle through all of them to find one. When I stumbled upon this post on meet.make.laugh I knew I had a solution to my scarf storage.

Sewing Mondays - Magnetic Bookmark

Hey everyone, I am super excited to share this with you all! I am starting a new series on my blog, entitled "Sewing Mondays"!!!

As you may or may not know, I received my first sewing machine two Christmas's ago from my awesome parents. It has been a huge ambition of mine to learn how to sew and for the past 8 or 9 months I have been doing just that! I started by taking a few sewing classes at JoAnn's to get my feet wet. Besides the classes, I have been following tutorials online, posted by some amazing bloggers!

To help encourage myself to practice as much as I can, I came up with Sewing Mondays.

Ombre Shamrocks

March? What? What happened to February? Time sure does fly by. Now that it is March I can share with you guys my Marchy themed crafts!

First up is my St. Patrick's day craft. I like St. Patty's day, not because of green food or beverages, but because it also so happens to be my dad's birthday. Yup, he was born on St. Patty's day. And he is half Irish! His mom immigrated here from Ireland when she was a wee lass. Actually his dad also immigrated here from Germany when he was a boy, too. Couldn't even speak english. Super cool.

Anyway, so my dad, who was born on St. Patty's day and happens to be half Irish was named....Rick. My mom always says he should have been named PATrick because of those reasons above. And he could still be called Rick. She always gave my grandmother a hard time. Actually, my dad's legal name is Rickie because my grandma was sweet like that!

My mom has also told us that if my sister would have been a boy his name would be Patrick. I would have been Kevin, not my first choice. I'm glad I was a Stephanie : ).

Alright on to the crafty tutorial.

I wanted something simple and modern, but still St. Pattyish. So here is what I came up with:
