Book Page Heart Garland

Hello all! I hope you are having a great Wednesday. Today is actually my sister's birthday!!! She turns 26 today but we aren't going to celebrate it till this weekend.

Anyways, yesterday I shared with you how I made one of my garlands for the Valentine's Day garland exchange/ adoption fundraiser hosted by It's Just Emmy. Today I'm going to show you how I made the other one. Here is what I did:

What you need:
  • Book Pages
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Hole Punch
  • Craft Paper/Circle Hole Punch
  • Yarn

First I cut 1 and 1/2 inch by 4 and 1/2 inch book paper strips.

Next I took one strip, place hot glue at one of the edges, and added a second paper strip on top. I sandwiched the glue between the ends of the two paper strips.

Then I took the free ends of the two strips of paper and glued them together on the inside.

This created a heart shape.

Once I had lots of paper hearts made I punched holes in the heart on the sides and in the middle, so I could thread the yarn through the heart.

I wanted something else to separate the hearts on the garland. So I used some craft paper and cut the paper into 2 inch circles {with a circle punch}. Then I  punched two holes in the circles.

Finally I threaded the circles and hearts onto cream yarn. Then I tied off the ends so the paper wouldn't fall off.

Done!

I love the look of this garland! It's great for those who aren't big fans of pink/purple but want to decorate for Valentine's Day. I hope my exchange partner likes this one too!
