Spring is in full swing! And that means plenty of fresh new interior design ideas to try out in your home. Whether it is adding an accent color or completely repainting all your walls, there are lots of ways, both big and small, to renew your living space. Here are four fabulous spring trends for your home.

1. Bright Is Beautiful
This spring, color is big. From the radiant orchid, the Pantone color of 2014, to beautiful shades of blue, like navy and turquoise, the best way to make a design splash is with vibrant hues. Some of the most prevalent colors right now include:

What If Bright Is Too Bold?
Bright colors are a big trend this year. But for some individuals, bold shades and brilliant hues can feel intimidating at first. A smart way to start implementing these trendy fresh colors is by starting with baby steps. Add a small pop of color with accent pillows. Or try repainting a tiny room such as a bathroom.

A small half bath presents the perfect place to try out a bold color because the small area will not prove as overwhelming. Designer Mona Ross Berman tells, “Powder rooms are places where you can gild the lily.” In other words, feel free to be a little wild in the smallest spaces.

2. Painting the Cabinets, Too
Dark kitchen cabinets can have a tendency to suck light from the room, according to This Old House. Fortunately, “a brighter makeover doesn’t necessarily mean replacing those gloomy boxes with all-new cabinets.” With some clean up, primer and a fresh coat of color, you can breathe new life into your existing kitchen. What’s great about this project is that it is relatively inexpensive and can still create a major transformation.

3. Fabulous Florals
Floral patterns began as a clothing trend. But as things tend to ooze and mix in the design world, floral patterns and watercolor prints are now a beautiful way to accent interiors, too.

The key to implementing floral fabrics and other touches in your interiors to not to over-do it. Flower patterns stand out and a little can go a long way. Choose some accent pillows or curtains. But don’t cover your furniture, pillows and curtains all in floral.

4. Mad for Metallics
Metal shades like gold, silver and bronze can add mood, glamour and drama to a room. Details like chandeliers, frames and other architectural elements are excellent ways to incorporate a touch of the metallic trend.

You can also add metals in big ways. Spiral staircases offer an elegant but functional way to use metal or cast iron in your home.

With these incredible design ideas, you can easily implement a trend for a quick update or totally renovate your entire home for this season.
