This past weekend Chris and I hosted a barbecue party at our place for a few friends. Naturally I made some decorations for this party! I'd thought I'd share with you all how I made some of the decorations over the next few weeks.
Today I'm going to share the wreath I made that welcomed our guests to our home. Here is what I did:
What you need:
- Foam wreath
- Scrapbook paper
- Circle punch
- Hot glue gun
- Craft paper
- Chalkboard label stickers
First I wrapped ribbon around the foam wreath securing it with hot glue.
Next I punched out small circles from pink, orange, and gold scrapbook paper using a circle punch. I then attached the circles randomly onto the wreath using hot glue.
I wanted a way to say welcome on the wreath using a banner. To do this I first cut out little flags from craft paper. Then I attached chalkboard label stickers onto the tops of the flags. Next I wrote WELCOME on all the flags with chalk. I then hot glued the flags onto string to create a banner. Finally I attached the banner to the wreath.
Last but not least, I made a loop of ribbon for hanging and.... done!
I think it came out pretty cute if I do say so myself! I originally wanted the little chalkboard banner to fit entirely inside the wreath, but I made the flags a little too big. But I still like it. ; )
Next week I'll share another decoration tutorial, so be sure to stop by!
