My DIY Wedding: Design & Style {Part 1}

Hi all! Today I am back with "My DIY Wedding" series. Last week I shared the Venue & Layout so this week I'm going to talk about the Design & Style. As I was writing this post I realized I had a lot to share, so I split it into two parts. Here is part one:

First lets start with the colors:

We are using soft sage green and champagne with creams and golds thrown in there too. I want it to mostly be the champagne, creams, and golds with pops of the green.

The flowers:

I've decided to do something a little different with the flowers. Instead of buying them, I'm going to make them! They can be really expensive and I have bad allergies so making them just made sense.

I want to try to make peonies and garden roses.

For the colors I going to stick with creams, whites, and greens. I really don't want any blush or pink around. Also I'm going to add my own fake leaves. This will be one aspect of the DIY wedding that I will definitely share a lot more detail about after the wedding!

Lounge area:

On the deck we plan on having a lounge space. My mom and I are looking at flea markets and thrift stores to find a couch, love seat, chairs, and tables.

Near the lounge area I also plan on having two high cocktail tables as an alternative place to hang out.

Scattered around this lounge area on the deck will be lots of lanterns, gold and champagne painted mason jars, and candles. My vision is a romantic and cozy area.

Also we are going to cover the deck somehow, with either a tent or awing. We are doing this for two reasons. The obvious is rain, but if it doesn't rain, we also want to protect our guests from the sun.

Ok, I think that is enough for now. I'm really getting excited about this wedding! Next week I'll be sharing part 2, so be sure to come back. : )
