Gold Dot Table Runner

While decorating for Thanksgiving this year I kept it very simple using only gold and white. I also added red but only with the roses and candles. On our dinning room table I knew I wanted to have a table runner. So I looked at what materials I already had and I came up with the gold dot table runner. Here is how I made it:

What you need:
  • Fabric (I used white linen)
  • Sewing machine
  • Paint
  • Shape stamp
  • Paint brush
  • Scissors
First I sewed the runner from white linen fabric. The finished piece was 12 inches x 54 inches (the length of my table). The piece I cut was 13 inches x 55 inches. I added 1/2 inch per side for hemming.

To hem I first folded the edge 1/4 then 1/4 again then sewed to seal in the edge.

Next I added the gold dots by using the end of a marker. Not all the dots came out perfectly so I fixed them with a small paint brush.

I let the paint dry and done!

This turned out to be a really simple project! And I totally love this table runner!

It looked great with the rest of my Thanksgiving decor and my family even had nice comments about it!

Have a great week!
